One of the ways we raise much-needed funds for the Centre’s residents is through our annual events and special projects. This is also an enjoyable way to get involved with our community. Hockey Tournament
Hold the date for the 2025 Tournament- Sunday, April 27 at Hockey Etcetera!!!
The 2024 DBJ Annual Hockey Tournament, sponsored by BMO Private Wealth and Scotia 1832, was held on Sunday, April 14 2024, at Hockey Etcetera.
Over 100 hockey players raised funds for a vital project to our Centre. The Sunshine Fund supports our residents in need with simple essentials to help them feel secure and comfortable in their home here at Donald Berman Jewish Eldercare. We help by funding haircuts, foot care, and clothing along with covering the cost of any other specific needs they might have but are unable to afford.

Project Feel The Love
During COVID, we started Project Feel the Love to help the Centre’s overworked and exhausted staff to truly feel appreciated during this time of crisis. Thanks to generous donors, our team has provided over 10,000 meals and snacks as well as other items like home-made soups, masks for use outside the facilities, ear guards to make the wearing of masks more comfortable, hand cream for their tired hands, fruit for busy days, and groceries to take home.
Art for Healing
The Donald Berman Jewish Eldercare Foundation has enjoyed a wonderful partnership with the Art for Healing Foundation since 2006. Beautiful pieces of original art hang in all spaces including hallways, dining rooms, activity rooms, and offices. Media represented include paintings, prints, etchings, photographs, and sculptures. This incredible partnership has completely transformed the Centre’s walls.
